Travel Photo Mondays – photo tour #1

Travel Photo Monday

Welcome to Travel Photo Mondays

I’m inviting you to join us every Monday morning to enjoy some gorgeous travel photography and inspiration from around the world. Let’s banish those Monday blues by sharing gorgeous imagery and story telling .

For my first submission, I’m not taking you very far, in fact it’s my home town of Hilo, Hawaii. Let me just say that this little town doesn’t change much –  but its main charm, small town feel, great local food and beautiful people are what makes this place special. Let me just give you a little tour of the area.

Just past one of the few bridges leading into town is this sweet spot with small waterfalls that empty out to Hilo bay.

There are some beautiful waterfalls in Hilo and the most visited is Rainbow falls, a fun walk up the side stairs allows nice views of the area.

When in Hilo, you must visit the local farmers market, try some exotic tropical fruit and home-made specialties!

There are so many beautiful coves,  beaches and lagoons to discover in Hilo, here’s one of my favorites – Carl Smith Beach with its crystal clear aqua to deep blue waters out in the Pacific.

Hilo’s really stunning, Noel. Thanks for the virtual tour.

Nice. I’ll be delighted to join. I have SO many pictures from our various travels … nothing extremely exotic, mind you (not counting Ireland, but I don’t think that’s all that exotic, really) … mostly in America. But some really nice stuff here on the east coast in New Engand especially.

I tried to “follow” by email, but it said “the RSS feed isn’t enabled for email” whatever that means. I’m not entirely sure how I link. Just reference this sight by putting the link in the post or in the related stuff section?

Sorry to sound so clueless. I know a lot of things, but there are holes where information needs to be. This is one of them. Thanks for the invitation 🙂

This is so beautiful Noel! I would gladly give up my Monday blues for such beautiful scenery :). Thank you very much for stopping by ISLAND VIGNETTES. Looking forward to exploring your site as well!

The photo of the guitar player behind the flowers is stunning. Fishermen in N.Q. can sometimes be seen sitting on upturned buckets as well – I guess it is a dual purpose thing 🙂

Hilo is a great town! We spent a day there when we were on the Big Island for a week last year. I really enjoyed the tsunami musuem. It was very informative and well presented – a great source of info. I also liked exploring the shoreline. I collect seaglass when I travel and there were lots of hidden gems in Hilo.
