Thanks to the city of Verona for hosting a tour of their stunning city, all opinions and thoughts are my own.
I love this collection of doors and windows. They really are a great thing to photograph particularly if you are travelling to an old city.
Lovely…
Beautiful! What fun to get photographed on Juliet’s balcony!
Doors, portals and windows are always so interesting to photograph, and of course how well you do it Noel. I love the idea of the story behind the door or window, and I think colourful shutters add to the element of intrigue and mystery too.
I agree that looking through a portal makes a view extra special. I’m always trying to find views like that with my camera. My favourite photos in your post are the three with mustard walls. I can imagine living in the rooms behind the windows and either opening the doors to let the fresh air in or stepping through them to the juliette balconies. I never thought of Verona having a Venetian Influence but it stands to reason because of it’s proximity. I’ve heard nothing but good about Verona and hope to get there one day.
Love these photos of Veronas’s picturesque entrances and windows. The carvings, colors, ironwork and shutters make each entrance inviting and truly unique. My favorite photo is the burnt orange building with the gorgeous aqua shutters.
I studied interior design in college so I’m always awed by photos what capture the architectural period details and personality of a destination. Stunning images!
One of our favorite towns – and you’ve captured it so beautifully! Makes me eager to return…
I love thees door photos. Beautiful.
Love doors and windows! My post is from Italy too! Great minds think alike! Love the stone and window boxes.
Truly stunning photos! I love the golden glow to the buildings especially Juliet’s balcony. We’ll be in Verona in May so your post is especially enticing!
I love when I am traveling and I wake up before sunrise so I can get out for a walk and take photos of doors in the early morning light. Lovely photos!
I didn’t think you could actually go to Juliet’s balcony?
Well you can for a price
It’s always such a pleasure to see the care and devotion given to details in period architecture. There’s a marvelous G+ community devoted entirely to photographs of windows and doors, and I find myself paying more attention to them because of this. The miniature balconies are so romantic, too.
Fantastic photos; I always love looking at various doorways – don’t know why but they have character
Beautiful photos–love all the weathered stone and gorgeous golds. Verona really entices!
What a great set of photos, Noel! Love the last one!
