Sedona is broken down into four main distinct areas: the Village of Oak Creek, Uptown Sedona, West Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon. Uptown Sedona is the central downtown area and is filled with all the restaurants, galleries and shops, and central Sedona resorts if you want to be located in the heart of the city. The other districts are relatively close and within driving distance but have their own little communities, shopping/dining and other related services.

The man-made structures somehow seem to blend with the background. Oak creek canyon definitely offers quite a view with the far off (rail?) bridge providing the contrast in the natural surroundings.
I almost went to the Grand Canyon with my sister two years ago, but decided to wait and do a little more research before going just incase there was more to explore in Arizona. So glad I did! Sedona has so much to offer. Thanks for all the tips, I’ll keep them in mind.

We love Sedona – we were lucky enough to be living in Phoenix for a year a little while back, so took many day trips and made our way back home. So many choices! It could be tough to make a final decision ;). To the certain extent, I feel lucky been on the opposite side of the world: too far to be tempted by your pictures and instantly book a trip to Sedona. Speaking of pictures, the last one caught my attention. Recently, I was doing research about Peranakan tiles (ceramic tiles that adorn Singaporean and Malaysian old buildings). The tiles on your photo look strikingly similar to those.
Such a helpful guide to Sedona – I haven’t visited yet but I would use it if I ever got there. Having looked at the hotels, I think I like the look of Amara Resort & Spa – realxing but in the heart of the adventure! Your pictures are just incredible. What a beautful part of the world
There are so many choices of accommodations to fit any price range or need in Sedona.
Great suggestions on where to stay! We love Sedona and have been a couple of times–we stayed in both of the Best Westerns in town but it would be great to check out some of the other properties sometime, too! This makes me want to head back again soon!
